Fact: Research shows that meditation has many health benefits not only for mental health but also for physical health

In order to get the benefits, meditation must be done in the right way. Although it seems easy to just close your eyes, several things are required so that the benefits of meditation can be obtained. For beginners, this may seem difficult at first, but once you get used to it it will become easy to do.

  • Meditate in a quiet room so that you stay focused and not distracted by other things around you. 
  • Calm your mind, sit in an upright and comfortable position, and close your eyes.
  • Set a time limit. As a beginner, set a meditation time of no more than 5 minutes. 
  • Focus on the breath. Meditating does not mean emptying the mind. As a beginner, learn to focus on the breath. Feel the breath as it goes in and out through the nose.
  • Stay focus. It is usually difficult for beginners to focus. If this happens, remember to refocus on the breath. 

By meditating regularly, you will feel better physically and most of it mentally. Be less easily stressed, not easily forget things, and become calmer and at peace with yourself. Not only beneficial for mental health, many people whose physical health becomes better after regular meditation. Meditation, combined with conventional medical treatment, is said to improve physical health. One of them is like helping to manage symptoms of certain health conditions such as insomnia, heart disease, pain, cancer, and some digestive problems.
