Jakarta, 21 April 2013 - In conjunction with Kartini Day (Kartini, the country’s first women’s emancipator), Combiphar held its first community event, COMBI RUN 2013 in collaboration with IndoRunners, the largest running community in Indonesia. Apart from promoting awareness on healthy living, Combi Run was tied up with a charitable cause in raising funds for the Indonesian Heart Foundation (Yayasan Jantung Indonesia).
The Combi Run route stretched over 2,5 kilometers and every 2,5K loop completed by the runners was valued at IDR 50.000, (or approx. USD 5). Participating runners proved to be highly motivated to run as many loops as they could to raise as much funds as possible and in the end, 306 runners were able to complete 627 loops collectively. The total funds raised was IDR 31,350,000 which was doubled by Combiphar totaling IDR 62,700,000 or almost USD 60,000 and was greeted with cheerful applause from all the runners when the final amount raised was announced at the end of the event. To add even more excitement to the day, prizes were also awarded in three different categories: fastest 1 loop, fastest 3 loops and in commemoration of Kartini Day, fastest female pair.
