The Super Foods that May Prevent Cervical Cancer

The female-specific cervical cancer is caused by HPH virus, especially for type 16 and 18, which are usually transmitted by sexual intercourse. The cancer is formed because of the change in the cell structure at the cervix that becomes malignant and may even lead to death. As much as possible, we should take prevention instead of medication. One of the ways to do so is by eating well to maintain reproductive health. Several foods considered effective for preventing cervical cancer are:

1. Grapefruit

The high content of vitamin C in grapefruit is believed to prevent the formation of the nitrogen compounds that cause cancer. Grapefruit is also believed to reduce the risk of cancer formation in the stomach, colon, esophagus, bladder and breast.

2. Dark green vegetables

Vegetables of dark green color like lettuce, spinach, and broccoli contain flavonoid, the main source of the nutrition that may prevent cervical cancer as well as other types of cancer.

3. Carrot

Vegetables of red color like carrots, which have long been known for being a great source of vitamin A essential for vision health, also contain beta-carotene and carotenoids that are good for cervical cancer prevention. Carrots can be used as an ingredient of soup, juice or salad.

4. Green tea

Green tea has grown to be a popular drink nowadays, and it has a lot of health benefits due to its content of polyphenol, which is believed to be an anti-oxidant that can prevent cancer cell development.

5. Beans and nuts

Beans and nuts like peanuts and red beans are rich in vitamin E, which can reduce the risk of illnesses around the stomach, colon, lungs, liver, and several types of cancer.
