A Glimpse of Raw Food Diet

A raw food diet is the consumption of unrefined and unprocessed foods. Staples of the raw food diet include uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and organic foods. Although the foods are not processed, they can be presented in various kinds of recipes, like cake, burger, biscuits, and smoothies.

It is recommended to consume raw foods to keep their nutrition and natural enzymes. These enzymes are needed to improve digestive system and to fight against chronic diseases. Moreover, natural enzymes in raw foods help to cure headache, allergy, and even stroke. Other desirable outcomes include healthier skin, younger appearance, and weight loss.

If eating cold foods are not preferable, you can warm the raw foods with maximum temperature of 47 degree Celsius. However, there are several things need to consider regarding this raw food diet. You may become deficient of protein, iron, calcium, vitamin, and mineral. To substitute those substances, you can take extra supplements and vitamins. Another thing to note is always washing the raw foods thoroughly before storing them in airtight jars or containers. Furthermore, since there is a risk of toxicity from raw food diet, it is not suggested to be practiced by pregnant women, children, the elderly, people with weak immune system, and patients with kidney problems.
